Charles Munsey II
FREE!
Followed by Refreshments, Book Signings and an Open Mic Reading.
Charles Munsey II, born circa 1959 to the befuddled amusement of his parents, is a strutting contradiction. He is a latitudinal pinpoint on a map where swagger and wisdom finally meet, for once and maybe for all. He is the embodied anthem-harmonic, of America’s spiritual orphanage, “a humble smoke break scribe” with well over 2000 pieces from his Everest stack of notebooks embossed by his own hand, in his own unique calligraphy.
Charles Munsey II is also the long time Master of Ceremonies of Bards and Balladeers at a local independent coffeehouse – Lazy Daze – in the historic Irvington area of Indianapolis, Indiana. The coffeehouse is now defunct but the poetic spirit continues to thrive in the same space which meets weekly on Thursday evenings. Charles’ absolute dedication to his work has blossomed into 2000 plus poems. Paired with his absurd in-your-face performance style on the open stage, Charles is THE poet you don’t want to miss … not that you could.
The details of the biographic sketch presented here were obtained from Celestial Panther Publishing, the producer of Charles’ first chapbook.
